New Desk Setup Priorities

  1. Chair: Invest in a high-quality ergonomic chair from Steelcase or Herman Miller (used models are fine and available at warehouse sales). A good chair is all you need to start working.
  2. Desk: Any sturdy desk will work, and buying used is perfectly fine. A sit-stand desk is a nice bonus but not essential.
  3. Monitor: Look for one with USB-C and a built-in USB hub for single-cable convenience. Choose a screen larger than 24”. While 4K or 5K resolution is nice, ensure at least 1440p.
  4. Wireless keyboard and mouse: Get a set with a unifying receiver. Logitech Gaming and Asus make reliable options. Choose USB-C charging models to avoid batteries. A mouse with Bluetooth is handy for travel.
